Kobi Williams is a Melbourne-born Australian racing driver whose career has been defined by natural speed, determined racecraft and a relentless ambition to compete at the highest level.

Racing since the age of eight, Kobi began his motorsport journey in karting, where he developed the precision, discipline and competitive instincts that continue to shape him as a driver today. His early career quickly produced major results, including victory in the 2019 Australian Kart Championship in the KA4 Junior class and a win at the prestigious Race of Stars event on the Gold Coast. Those achievements established Kobi as one of Australia’s most promising young competitors and created the foundation for his progression into national-level motor racing.

After building extensive experience in karting, Kobi made the transition into Formula Ford—one of Australia’s most respected and fiercely competitive development categories. Formula Ford places a premium on pure driving ability, with limited aerodynamics and closely matched machinery requiring drivers to master car control, braking, momentum and wheel-to-wheel racing.

Kobi’s breakthrough national Formula Ford season came in 2024. Driving the number 94 Spectrum, he secured his first national pole position, race victory and overall round win at Sydney Motorsport Park. He went on to record four race victories during the season and established himself as a consistent championship contender capable of winning at a variety of circuits and under intense pressure.

That experience prepared Kobi for a defining 2025 campaign.

Across the season, he combined outright speed with greater consistency, maturity and control. Entering the final round at Phillip Island with the national championship still undecided, Kobi produced one of the strongest performances of his career. He claimed pole position by almost nine-tenths of a second before winning all three races across the weekend.

The result secured the 2025 Australian Formula Ford Championship, making Kobi the 54th national champion in the category’s distinguished history. It was a landmark achievement in a championship that has long served as a proving ground for some of Australia’s leading professional racing drivers.

Winning the Formula Ford title represented the completion of one major objective—but it was never intended to be the final destination.

In 2026, Kobi made the significant step from lightweight, open-wheel Formula Ford machinery into the powerful Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, joining Tyler Greenbury Racing to contest the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia.

The transition demanded an entirely new driving approach. The Porsche’s greater weight, power, braking performance and aerodynamic characteristics presented a major technical challenge, but Kobi demonstrated immediately that he could adapt.

At the opening round of the season at Phillip Island, Kobi recorded a remarkable victory in the Jim Richards endurance race on his Porsche debut. During the same weekend, he also established a new Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge lap record at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit—an immediate demonstration of both his raw pace and his ability to understand unfamiliar machinery.

His early Porsche success was not an isolated result.

At The Bend Motorsport Park, Kobi delivered another composed and aggressive performance in the 45-minute endurance race. After positioning himself within the leading group, he capitalised on the battle ahead, took control of the race and defended the lead to secure his second consecutive Jim Richards Enduro Trophy victory. The result strengthened his position as one of the leading endurance competitors in the championship.

Kobi then produced another major career milestone on the streets of Townsville.

Competing during the nationally televised Townsville event, he secured the first Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge pole position of his career, edging his closest rival by just 0.13 seconds. Despite losing the lead momentarily at the start, Kobi remained composed, fought back immediately and reclaimed first position before the end of the opening lap.

From there, he controlled the race and drove to a commanding victory, leading teammate Ryan Suhle home in a Tyler Greenbury Racing one-two finish.

The performance demonstrated every quality that has defined Kobi’s progression: speed, confidence, resilience and the ability to deliver under pressure on a national stage.

Kobi races with the number 94 and is instantly recognisable by his blue, white and green helmet. While his results have established his reputation on the track, his professionalism away from competition is equally important to his career.

He understands that a modern racing driver represents more than personal performance. A driver must represent their team, sponsors and partners with professionalism, integrity and energy—both at the circuit and away from it. Kobi approaches those responsibilities with the same dedication he brings to racing, recognising the importance of building strong relationships and delivering genuine value to those supporting his career.

His long-term ambitions remain clear. From the beginning, Kobi’s goal has been to reach the highest levels of GT3 racing or Supercars. Winning the Australian Formula Ford Championship and earning the opportunity to race Porsche GT3 Cup machinery have already moved him significantly closer to that objective—but he remains focused on continuing to learn, improve and progress.

Kobi is not simply regarded as a fast driver. He is developing into a complete racing competitor: technically aware, physically prepared, commercially professional and capable of producing results in vastly different forms of machinery.

From Australian karting champion to Formula Ford champion and national Porsche race winner, each stage of Kobi Williams’ career has demonstrated a clear upward trajectory.

His journey is still gathering momentum.
